pitas
here's how
to get back
in time, to the older stuff.
Oh. My. God.
This. is. SO. COOL.
Jaboom.com just opened up and it SO kicks ass. You rate songs and get points for up to fifty songs per day, and you make Amazon.com or CDNow certificates with those points. Just a thousand points (approximately fifty songs) gets you $12 in certs, and you can make that in a DAY. I've been there for two days and have already advanced two levels AND made about $30 in certificates. In TWO DAYS. AND it's open to everyone, US Resident or NOT. Use the link above and I'll kiss you. You get an extra fifty points and so do I.

Infiltration
What a cool idea this is. This guy, calling himself Ninjalicious (which is unfortunate, but appropriate, I suppose), writes a print zine that he's got excerpts of online. He goes into places you aren't supposed to go: utility tunnels, catacombs, transit tunnels, abandoned buildings....and writes about the experience. He's got the Paris catacombs, subway tunnels, varied canadian locales. I want this zine. :)

Jewelry for Dogs
Just when I thought I'd seen just about everything -- along comes Dog Jewelry to remind me of the vastness of human creativity. Or depravity. One of the two. Sad thing is, I'd probably buy some for my puppylovedogdog if I wasn't somehow morally opposed to the waste of web space. :) (just kidding -- I'm all for entrepreneurship in all forms, of course.)

Daily Bowl of Saki
Needing something spiritual in your life? Every single day, this place posts a quote by Rumi with some analysis. It's really enlightening some days -- and if you've ever dreamed of being a whirling dervish, this'll help satisfy those cravings.

Flipflopflyin.com
Okay, this is just cool. A fun way to kill a few minutes before you run off to do your real job or whatever. Micromini celebrity icons, and other fun stuff.

Timeless Roses
All right, you green-thumbed folk -- this is where to go if you're thinking about growing roses (and other stuff). It's a gardening resource for the rest of us -- without being condescending like those Dummies books. :)

Art Zine?! Huh?!
Ever wonder what an art zine is? How to define it? What makes it different from a regular ol' zine or from an artist book?
This page'll tell you.

A little Journal Quiz....
This is one of those email surveys -- only it's in web form format so you can do it right online. The questions are bizarre on this one, too. "Do you drool on your pillow? Do you smell it?"
Eww.

The Reader's Vine
Okay....so the site's slow and not very intuitive. The boards are even slower and clunky. And nothing's really organized very well. BUT....it has potential.
What this is is a virtual community based on books. You go, you talk about books, you belong to a virtual "family", you make your own home, you chat, whatever. It's actually pretty fun once you get the hang of it. If you're passionate about books, go now.

I am a wage whore:
Bella Online
I'm a host and a corporate slut here.
Free Ride is how I pay for my burgeoning book addiction. Well, okay. Continuing book addiction. In two weeks, I've amassed $40 US for it, no less. If you sign up and use "peonyblue" as your referrer, I'll kiss your toes. But only after washing.
