Who's Alive and Who's Dead
Ever get into an argument with someone who -insists- an actor/performer/politician/athlete is dead, when you know they aren't? Here's the site to solve it.

Phantom of the Opera
I found this site after Henry and I went to the broadway production that was on tour. Talk about merchandising -- the blurbs, pictures, and clips they give are better than the show itself -- but that might be just my opinion. I'm just not an operahound.
Despite that, I liked the show. Probably wouldn't see it again, but I -would- peruse the site. Thus, the links.

Any Swing Goes
A resource for All Things Swing, daddy-o. Very cool -- MP3s, chat lounge, radio show, contests and reviews, live auctions, tour dates, merchandise, links, message boards and news. Plus free webmail, like everyone else offers. Get another email address.... :)

Marble Solitaire
I could, quite literally, play this for hours. It's so simple -- jump marbles to try to leave one standing. But it's NOT easy, and it drives me buggy.

Splendid Micronation of Serendip
Ever heard of a mirconation? There's two schools of thought about these -- either they're tiny countries made up for political reasons (to push an agenda or protest) or just a fun ol' way to spend some time dreaming about your Utopia. Some people take these very seriously, others just use them as ways to create artistamps. :)
This page has a ton of resources.

Listen.com
An MP3 site that covers just about everything. Not as good, of course, as San Diego-based mp3.com, but that's fine. It's still good.

Norfolk High School Alumni, '89
Believe it or not, this is where I went to high school -- for half a year. I didn't even graduate from here (graduated from Catholic School), but I'm so legendary that they keep sending me stuff on reuinions. Some bad memories just won't die, I guess. :)

New Age Links List
From Sevenrays, a bookstore somewhere back east, this links list covers quite a bit of ground, despite it's kind of...disorganized nature. It's pretty nifty.

The Demon Dictionary
Need to know what the name of the demon is that's called the bearer of bad news or the god of quarrels in Assyrian culture? This site'll have it. If you're writing dark....gothic.....vampire....fiction (read with a breathy melodramatic pause between each word), you'll get all sorts of ideas here.
Me, I was just looking to see if my ex-husband was on there. I think they missed one.

BookDigital
It calls itself the ultimate online resource guide -- and for general information, it is. Much easier than a search engine, it returns very pertinent information 90% of the time.

Butterfly Gallery
Ever need a picture of a brush-footed butterfly? Just want to know what the family Hesperidae looks like? Have trouble identifying a Swallowtail gossamer? The USGS has this list of pictures and identities of all the North American butterflies.
I know. It's a little weird.

Freebie Stuff
All sorts of programs you can join that will give you either free or low-cost airfare and travel discounts, as well as other shopper's advantage type things. Really neat-o.

Las Vegas Strip History
It's not art, but it's pretty good, no less. I like the history sections and seeing how the strip used to look, but the background starts to hurt my head after a short time. Though, honestly, if you look at it with objectivity, Las Vegas is about cluttered excess and glitz, and thus the background works. "Fabulous LAS VEGAS" over and over kind of makes me cringe. I still like the site. :)

American Memory
If you need a historical photo or just want to browse -- this is the place to go. The National Digital Library has collected a lot of photos in this searchable database, and allows you to find either a photographer, subject, or topic. Highly recommended site.

Velvet Revolution Journals
Wow -- beautifully designed, and intriguing subject matter. This site deals with the Czechoslovakian revolution from an eye-witness perspective. There's also parts dealing with Czech history and authentic historical materials. It's really fascinating.
