Pitas.com!

pitas

here's how
to get back
in time, to the
older stuff.

Oh. My. God.
This. is. SO. COOL.
Jaboom.com just opened up and it SO kicks ass. You rate songs and get points for up to fifty songs per day, and you make Amazon.com or CDNow certificates with those points. Just a thousand points (approximately fifty songs) gets you $12 in certs, and you can make that in a DAY. I've been there for two days and have already advanced two levels AND made about $30 in certificates. In TWO DAYS. AND it's open to everyone, US Resident or NOT.

Use the link above and I'll kiss you. You get an extra fifty points and so do I.

Polymer Clay FAQ
Ever wanted to know what it is that they actually -do- with that FIMO or Sculpey? Here's a good place to start looking. I'll warn you, if you're crafty at all, you'll end up wanting a lot of this after looking through the swap zone and instructions.

MANDALAS
There was a mandala swap that I didn't get into while I was going through my "I CAN NOT JOIN ANY MORE SWAPS!!!!" phase. (Which is over now, thankfully.) I did a little research, and have been making some mandalas in my morning pages journals ever since.

For more information on what they are and how to make them, try: Mandalas on the Web first. It has all kinds of artists and info links. Labyrinth Project that kicks ass, too. This site on Making Mandalas is pretty practical, and is printable so you can carry it with you to your favorite natural spot for meditation and creation.

If you end up making one of these, let me know -- I'd like to put together a gallery of my own.

DOLLMAKING
I made a set of jointed paper dolls for a swap I was in, and sent the extras to my InspirationMail pals. In my search, there were a couple dollmaking resources that I really liked.

Believe it or not, there's an actual Paper Doll Artists Guild. It's a good site to go to for inspiration. And then there's SaraDolls, who just makes all kinds of things from paper dolls to painted dolls and gives out doll patterns. It's pretty nifty.

COLLAGE
My collage interest is pretty much absorbed into other categories, but I have a few links worth mentioning for inspiration. Dave McKean is responsible for the Vertigo Tarot, and all of the cards are here on his site. Amazing, amazing, amazing. Oprah's Discovery Journal Site is based on Sarah Ban Breathnach's book Simple Abundance, and has collages that viewers have sent in that are kind of neat. The Artist's Inner Vision Tarot is something I want so desperately that it makes me salivate to even write the name. All kinds of collage artists got together and made their own tarot -- something I've been in the process of doing for ages, with only minimal results so far.

Not just for HP Printers, this site will give you templates for boxes, cards, seasonal ideas, and other crafts. It's really great.
