WORD
I haven't had a chance to go over this site much, but I'm telling you -- it's a visual cornocoupia of weirdness from what I can tell. Much writing, much design, much going on all at once. The minute I get two seconds to rub together, I'll be grabbing a link to this site and sitting here for a few hours.
You may want to turn animations off, though -- it gets a little annoying after about three minutes, as I see from writing this little mini-review.

Rennaissance Exhibition
For the highbrow or Shakespeare-minded among us, there's this site. (If you're not, feel free to skip to the next one, below, which is more current.) This well-designed and cleanly executed online exhibition is a one-stop hands-on resource for the time period in art and trade and and and......everything.
I ended up spending -so- much time here that I nearly didn't notice that I was missing a deadline. That's saying quite a bit.

The Digital Fridge
This -so- kicks ass. It's pretty much along the same line as zoom.net and photopoint and all that, where you upload your pictures/media/stuff to a central server and let it be shared to the world -- but....this has got a pretty nifty theme. And it seems to be attracting the younger crowds of artsy-fartsy types, so it's fun to go through, rather than seeing five hundred pictures of someone's cat.
No offense to cat-lovers anywhere, but I generally prefer more interest than fluffy's whiskers.

Dotster
Want to get a domain name cheap? $25 regular, $15 until April 30, 2000. Even a .cx domain is more than -that-.
Let's see...did I want "pookiebear.com" or "dark-gothic-vampire-fiction.com"....?

Mimi, a la Mode
Okay. This is one of those links where you kind of look at the page and wonder how there could possibly be a market for this. It's showercaps in this case, some of them printed and made in the style of a ladybug.
What this company was thinking, I don't know. What woman wants to go to the pool with a GIANT BUG on her head?
Oh, and they sell Spa Thongs, too. I don't even want to know.

Witchcraft Spells
I went through a period in my life where I thought I was all kindsa pagan. Now I'm just sort of pantheistically agnostic, but that's beside the point.
I came here looking for hints on making a spellbook page for a swap, and maaaaan, did I get sucked in. Everything from neo-paganism to santeria's represented, and she says that people shouldn't vote for George W. Bush, which gets her extra points in my book.

World's Largest Roadside Attractions
Ah, I'm so predictable. I love this stuff. Lovelovelove. And I tell ya...that wanderlust is getting pretty bad when I start longing to see the world's largest trout or the world's largest chicken.

The Outsider Pages
Outsider art is the hottest thing going right now. It's kind of like folk art and amateur art and a tribal, hotel-room kind of thing going on, all at once. In case you're one of them who has a deep, abiding love for the art of people who haven't quite left the sixties, this site's for you.
And it's pretty interesting to peruse, too.

Huge Magazine
I have just spent SO much time at this site that I believe I can now be officially called a resident. Art, books, articles, free background textures (that I'm planning to use in some of the art of peony blue: the print zine), and links....oh, man, are there links.
*swoon, swoon, swoon*
O, that I may one day be this cool.

I am a wage whore:
Bella Online
I'm a host and a corporate slut here.
Free Ride is how I pay for my burgeoning book addiction. Well, okay. Continuing book addiction. In two weeks, I've amassed $40 US for it, no less. If you sign up and use "peonyblue" as your referrer, I'll kiss your toes. But only after washing.
